Answer the two questions first. The home page asks what you want to
keep on and for how long, then tells you what to buy and roughly what it costs. An electrician can price
something specific far faster than something vague.
Pick an electrician near you. Our list shows licensed electricians and
electrical engineers by distance. The list is still being filled: entries marked sample are examples, not
checked pros.
Ask them to come and look. Anything that goes on the wall needs eyes on
your fuse box before the number is real. A battery box you plug in needs no visit at all.

Battery, inverter, mounting, cabling, breakers and labour as separate lines. One lump sum hides where the money goes, and makes two prices impossible to compare.
Dated and bounded
Battery prices move. The price should say how long it holds, and what happens if it runs out before you decide.
Clear on what it does not cover
Panel upgrades, permits, and any rewiring your house needs are common extras. They should be named as possible extras rather than discovered on installation day.
